Easter is just around the corner, which means it’s time to get crafty with family and friends. Market Basket would like to share a couple of fun and easy Easter activities with you and would like to wish you and your family an egg-cellent Easter!
How To Dye Easter Eggs With Kool-Aid
- Individual Flavored Kool-Aid Packets
- 1 Cup For Each Kool-Aid Packet Used
- Spoon
- Paper Towels
Instructions:
- Mix 1 Kool-Aid packet in 1 cup of cold water for each color.
- Gently drop 1 egg in each cup.
- Let sit for about 5-7 minutes or until desired color is reached.
- Use spoon to remove egg and let dry on paper towels before decorating!
Made From Scratch Bird’s Nest Cupcakes
Ingredients:
Cupcakes:
- 1 C Butter, softened
- 2 1/4 C Sugar
- 3 Eggs
- 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
- 3 1/4 C Flour
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 3 tsp. Baking Powder
- 1 1/2 C Milk
Icing:
- 1 C Butter
- 8 oz. Cream Cheese
- 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
- 1 C powdered Cocoa
- 4 1/2 C Powdered Sugar
- 1 package Candy Coated Milk Chocolate Eggs
Instructions:
Cupcakes:
- Preheat oven to 350° F and line muffin tins with muffin cups.
- Use a sifter to sift flour with salt and baking powder into a bowl.
- With mixer, mix butter, sugar, and eggs until light and fluffy. Pour in vanilla extract and mix well.
- Alternate pouring the flour mixture and milk into bowl a little at a time and make sure to mix well between pouring.
- Scoop batter into muffin tins and let bake for about 20 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Remove from oven and set aside to cool.
Icing:
- With mixer, mix butter, cream cheese, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
- Use a sifter to sift cocoa with powdered sugar in bowl.
- Pour the powdered sugar/cocoa mixture into bowl 1 cup at a time. Beat well between pouring.
- Use an icing piping bag to draw the bird’s nests and top with 3 candy coated eggs!
