Part 2 (of 3) – Apples, Apple Nutrition
One apple contains approximately 70-80 calories, contains no fat (which means no saturated fat either), no sodium, excellent fiber, no cholesterol, and no artificial colors.
By eating apples as a part of your good nutrition plan, you can reduce your risk of certain types of cancer, help reduce risk of high blood pressure, help keep you “regular”, and consume a generous amount of antioxidant vitamins with every apple. Apples are a natural food and do not contain the artificial colors found in many prepackaged foods. Some artificial dyes are banned in Europe due to their adverse effects on children’s health.
It seems like a simple plan, eat an apple a day for good health!
