This summer, “I am going to eat right and lose weight!” You can, and it begins right at Market Basket.
Prepare a list, shop for foods in advance, and let the “prepping” begin! Stock up on veggies to cook and
freeze in portion controlled containers; add meat and starch to the container, and you just meal
prepped! Want fresh salads daily? Simply purchase ready-made, washed and rinsed, bags of your
favorite lettuces (be sure to cover tightly with plastic wrap to stay fresh up to one week!) Chop your
favorite veggies and fruits to store in separate containers. Top your salads with these veggies and a
tablespoon of nuts to add “healthy fats” known to raise the “good” cholesterol (HDL) in your body.
Meal prepping is all about preparing meals in advance; to help decrease unplanned eating. This takes
planning and a little preparation work, but it beats hunger and “grabbing” quick foods, possibly high in
calories. Stick with your weight loss plan by making a list, shop from the list (better to shop when you’re
not hungry), and take the time to meal prep today!
